  1. I have read your comments on the blogs of one of our Indian muslim friends. And I would like to remind you that despite the Gujarat riots (wherein the Hindu death toll also did reach three figures), Muslims are treated well in India. Nobody insults their religion in the Lok Sabha. I have many Muslim friends and yes, certain regiments in the Indian army have a large percentage of Muslims and the Grenadiers shout Allahu Akbar even as they rush into battle. One of our greatest post-Independence war heroes is a Bihari Muslim. The architect of our nuclear program is a Muslim and if you ever try and find out the names of a few Kargil martyrs from the Indian side, there were quite a few Muslims...remember Lt. Haneefuddin.
Also, the Ghazni and the Aurangzeb that are extolled in your history textbooks were never really well-disposed towards fellow Muslims who were felt to be infidels like Shias. Yes, Aurangzeb persecuted them too. And if you ever read the Upanishads you will realise that Hinduism too is a monotheistic religion and at the levek of fundamentals there is little difference. So I do not see why there should be a problem...

  2. I do not understand the purpose of your comment. YEs, I do know about the Upanishads; I have read extensively about world religions and know that almost all of them are monotheistic at some level. I am not questioning anyone's faith. IT is a personal choice. But it's not only I but the entire world that points out to INdia the problem of worsening conditions of the majority of MUslims in INdia. Quoting some examples does not indicate the true situation of the vast majority of MUslims who live under the poverty line and are discriminated against.
